This project showcases the innovative interior design for the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Indonesia, the country's premier institution of higher learning. Our goal was to create an environment that not only reflects the prestige of the university but also significantly enhances productivity and learning outcomes.
Key Design Elements:
Color Psychology: We implemented a carefully curated color palette, combining soothing neutrals with energizing accents. The predominant use of white and beige promotes clarity and focus, while strategic pops of yellow stimulate creativity and optimism.
Natural Light Optimization: The design maximizes the influx of natural light through expansive windows, reducing eye strain and boosting mood and alertness among students and faculty.
Flexible Spaces: The open-plan layout facilitates collaboration and adaptability, with modular furniture that can be easily reconfigured for various learning and working styles.
Biophilic Elements: Incorporation of plants and natural materials connects occupants with nature, reducing stress and improving cognitive function.
Smart Lighting Design: A combination of ambient and task lighting, including the striking gold-accented ceiling fixtures, ensures optimal illumination throughout the day, supporting circadian rhythms and enhancing concentration.
Acoustic Considerations: Despite the open layout, we've integrated subtle acoustic treatments to manage noise levels and create a conducive environment for both focused work and group discussions.
Technology Integration: State-of-the-art audiovisual and connectivity solutions are seamlessly incorporated into the design, supporting modern teaching methods and research capabilities.
By harmonizing these elements, we've created a space that not only inspires but also tangibly contributes to the academic excellence of Universitas Indonesia's Faculty of Economics and Business. This design sets a new standard for educational interiors, fostering an atmosphere where Indonesia's future business leaders and economists can thrive.
